It’s Thursday, November 10, two days after Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election for president. Over the past 24 hours I have come across a few videos that have changed my opinion about President-elect Trump. Donald’s past will not equal his future as he is slowly changing into the man that God has appointed to the highest office in the land. I have seen many pray over him and for him and can see how this outpouring of love and support are slowly changing him from a man of the world to one of godliness. I am also watching how his family love him and continue to say that he’s not the man he use to be. I know that based upon his past this is very hard for some to read but even the Apostle Paul, before meeting the Lord, was a prideful, hateful and vicious man. But once the Lord got a hold of his heart, things changed and he went on to write most of the letters in the New Testament. I too know of my own journey as a Christian man and can remember many nights of feeling better than others and a sense of entitlement that the world owed me something. But that was all before I too encountered the Lord Jesus, Christ one night in the privacy of my own bedroom. His love changed me, His love restored me, His love washed away my sin and I will never be the same. I pray that Mr. Trump will continue to surround himself with good Christian men like Mike Pence, Ben Carson, Mike Huckabee, Ted Cruz, pastors and others who will continue to point him to the one who has all the answers. Let’s put our best foot forward and offer forgiveness and seek understanding where it is needed. I chose to look at the future with hope and optimism knowing it’s the Lord who appoints presidents, kings and leaders of all kinds. It’s now up to Donald and the rest of us to seek Him each and every day and for us to give our president the prayer and support he needs to focus on what’s important at this critical point in history. 1st Timothy 2:1-2 I exhort therefore, that first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men; for kings(presidents) and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
